  1. Writers often do not clear their thoughts before writing but instead purge themselves of thoughts instead. To clear one's head is to empty the mind and you can not feast upon an empty table nor drink from a dried up spring. If you have ever heard the someone say they have writer's block? That is what happens when a writer draws a blank and nothing comes to mind to write about...I suggest simply putting pen to paper and seeing what happens, once you are used to holding the pen to paper, pick a theme and write...you can always edit later on down the road.
