  4. i liked the story "little boat" because the boat went through a lot and almost got destroyed but when it was almost gone he came back because everyone helped him and i think the story means to never lose hope. And the story "much better now" had like the same meaning as the first i think.

  6. I think both stories have a similar meaning but tell different stories. They both show what we go through as people and Life. I am sure that people can figure out the meaning of these stories by watching them just once.

  7. Both stories seemed to portray a theme of progression and bravery

  8. I saw that both stories showed strong courage and determination. I can relate to the bookmark more because i to try to stay open minded and always try the best i can at anything i do.

  9. I found the both stories enlightening and creative. 'Much better now', for it's feeling of determination, the bookmark's wanting to do something so badly, so urgently, that the odds of mastering it don't matter. 'Little boat', displayed karma at it's best- doing selflessly kind acts regardless the damage to itself, then being repaid in kindness and selfless acts.

    1. All right this is what i was met to say that the little red boat got broken down but after he came back around people felt bad for the little boat and help it become new agein. For the little book mark it was stuck in one book intell it was dun and it open its mind to see there more to look for,

  13. Both of these stories seem to symbolize very crucial moments in life.
In 'Much Better Now' it portrays how even when life is going smooth and good that it can become stale and boring. Then something comes along and throws you around, rustles you up a bit. You just have to see what you're dealing with and conquer it, learning new skills along the way and in return you see a totally different view of the world, with so many more opportunities.
What 'Little Boat' was showing was the progression of life and hard times. We all go through times of hardship but, if we take it and keeping going we touch and inspire people. So when you are almost to the point of breaking the people you've met, the people you've inspired will be there to build you back up.

  14. The Much Better Now video had feeling and was putting you in book and you would imagine how it was like for the book mark thingy.

  15. I think that the both of the story had special meaning to most of the students as the first one was no matter how hard things got or how many times you fell get up and keep trying to where the little boat ; the people who hang in there with you as you start to sink will be the ones to help you rebuild .

  17. In much better now i think its trying to say is that if you wanna do something do it know matter how many obstacles you have to go though cause at the end its all worth it,like in the video the little book mark rides the wave and gets knocked down many time but he was persistently getting back up on the surf board, and at the end the book mark riding a wave opened up more opportunities in life and him thinking i can do it when he saw all those bookshelf full of new adventures.idk thats what i thought.

  18. Both are wonderful stories that I think shows sont give up no matter how hard you try dont give up like in much better now he kept trying and trying but when he was about to give up he found all those books but in little boat yea he went through all those bumps in the rode and when you thought it was over he traveled longer and there they slowly build him back up.

  19. When we watched Much Better Now I thought of how I was when I was little and in Hawaii learning how to surf, and its was saying never give up even though you've had all that your body and mind can handle. And when we watched Little Boat I thought even though you go through all these trials that beat you down you just have to keep going and see if any help comes your way.

  20. These short films show me that the two main characters or objects are very small and weak but became strong characters after dealing with there problems instead of running or hiding from them ,they kept going and came out with more than what they started with

    ReplyDelete
  21. i thought both videos had a meaning of not to give up and eventually everything will go good or be alright even though both videos had some differences they both had a similar meaning

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think 'Little Boat' shows that the character object has gone through some difficult problems, but still stands, goes through with it, and never gives up. Also 'Much Better Now' shows if you try someting very hard to do, then you never give up until you succeed. The videos show how these object characters went through hard stages, and difficulties, but never give up of what they are doing.

    1. I agree, I think these stories are way better without words because it wouldn't have been as inspirational with words. Actions speak louder then words. I like the way you emphasis this.

    2. I Agree, I think each one of the stories can relate to different people in different situations. No mater how tough things get , everything will be worth it at the end if you keep striving for it.

  23. I think Much Better Now is about how books can pretty much transport you into a different world and with each book each world is different. The little boat never gives up, no matter how much it's ripped and teared at, and that ended up working out for him in the end. His almost destroyers helped him and saved him.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Much Better now in my opinion was about how books open up new worlds and each books worlds are different. The little boat never gave up, no matter how battered he got. It helped him in the end because his almost destroyers rebuilt him as a form of gratitude.

    6. Wait, so if one agrees with Anthony... does that mean that they agree with Katy, since Anthony was just stating that he agreed with Katy? I'm confused.

Anyway, back on topic. Somehow, when first watching Little Boat, I managed to not notice that the people who rebuilt the boat were the same as those who destroyed it. I think that that's an interesting facet of the story and most certainly introduces some new themes.

  25. I saw a theme of resilience and determination in Much Better Now. After many trials and errors the bookmark succeeded in its attempts. It was rewarded by knowing how to take on the other stories in the library. Little Boat had a lot of symbolism. Showing how life can be hard in the beginning, but will find balance on the lighter side as well. The little boat was damaged by everything around it, but then received help from everything later on. I believe the author may have been saying that even the worst of us can do great things to others as well.

  26. These two stories were a way of saying " no matter what happen's never stop trying . " In ' little boat ' yeah he got destroyed but he never gave up he just kept believing . & in ' much better now ' the little guy had what he wanted , but then he lost it now he wants to get it back no matter how hard the obstacle is .

  27. Much better now seems like it's trying to tell you that every book has an adventure in it all you have to do is try. As for little boat, Sometimes rough paths break you apart but in the end your only twice as good as before.

    ReplyDelete
  28. For me the symbolism in both the stories seem to coexist nicely. In little boat, you notice that the boat is going along and is damage and brought down, but after all he's gone through he takes a piece of each of the people he knew with him. Its like the real relationships in life. We all make friends who leave us, but that doesn't mean their gone. In much better now the book mark is lonely and looks for a new way to enjoy life, just like we all do. Seeing the chance to branch out he tries something new. Even though he doesn't understand it right away and fails, he keeps going. After he has accomplished what he wanted to do the book closes symbolizing the end, but as the book mark looks up he discovers that the world has so much to offer if you just look for it.

  41. the paraphernalia of both these videos are extremely sumptuous.
the very chronicle of the tale had been well played and kept me observing till the very end.

the tug boat had suffered through years of terror and hardship. i am sure many people connected to it emotionally. the people that had fixed it had recognized the sorrow its been through and helped it as they have always needed.

the book mark had inspired people to ascertain the em-prise of literature by hinting silently that all books are a different venture into another story.

    "Much Better Now"
The little book mark was quite interesting, it had the tale of being unable to do things and just trying your hardest to do it the correct way.

    "Little Boat"
The boat showed how you can travel the world and still come out on top no matter how many times you get knocked down or torn apart. As well as showing how great your imagination can be.

Both stories were inspiring because it shows that no matter what you can come out on top, you just got to try your hardest.

I LIKE THE THE STORY "MUCH BETTER NOW" IT'S ABOUT THIS ONE LITTLE BOOKMARK THAT TRIES TO DO THINGS BUT FAILS AT FIRST, BUT LATER ON HE LEARNS TO TRY AGAIN AND THAT HE CAN DO BETTER NEXT TIME.

    "LITTLE BOAT"
THIS STORY IS ABOUT A BOAT THAT SAILS ACROSS THE WATER N GOES TO NEW PLACE AND ON THE WAY LITTLE BY LITTLE HE STARTS TEARING APART, BUT LATER IN THE STORY IT GETS HELP FROM THE ONES THAT ACCIDENTALLY HURT IT AND THE BOAT SAIL ONCE MORE

  51. The "Much Better Now" story showed an adventure telling anything an be accomplished through hard work, also that they can be many opportunities in life.

"Little Boat" showed that through hardships in life you can still repair and keep on going, even if it's through imagination.

  54. Much Better Now was very creative, interesting, and, in my opinion, a little funny. I think the book mark was cute and I loved how at the end, when he couldn't open the book again, he saw all the other books. Little Boat was my favorite, though. The boat really is nothing but an ananamet object, but you, or at least I, feel for it. To me, it's not just a boat, it's a character and I feel sorry for it. Last night I was showing my little brother Little Boat, and I asked him what he thought about the boat and he said, "It's just a boat". I guess he's just too young to understand what the video was doing . . .

  55. The Little Boat story was interesting to me because it was getting broken down slowly when it was passing by all these places and it was getting fixed up on the way back around it was getting fixed and once it passed those locations everyone stopped and looked at it in shock.

Much Better Now was also interesting to me but it was my favorite of the two of them, when the book he was surfing in closed he looked pretty bummed but when he had turned around he saw and endless amount of books and you could tell he was going on an adventure.

  56. Much better now was indeed a very creative Video that required little thought to understand the meaning. ultimately it meant books are adventure in imaginative hands. Little boat had a bit more complex meaning that could be taken multiple ways depending on what stuck out to the viewer.

    1. I agree with you about "Much Better Now" because it shows the bookmark having an adventure through the whole book and in the end the bookmark realizes there a whole collection of adventures to discover.

    2. On the topic of Much Better Now requiring less thought, I found it interesting that the bookmark was much more personified than the boat. Throughout the story the boat was just that-a boat. However, the bookmark was very person shaped, meaning that less effort must be put forth in order to connect or identify with it.

  57. In, "Little Boat," I liked how it told a whole story without the usage of words. It made me realize that not every story needs to be told with words, and that imagery is key.

In, " Much Better Now," I thought that the amount of creativity was not only aesthetically pleasing, but it also tells a great story visually.

Out of both of these short stories I more enjoyed, " Much Better Now," because of how creative it was, and because it got the main topic of the story across whilst still being enjoyable.

  59. More than words was a good one. I really liked it I mean it was like intriguing in a way, because you wanted to know what was going to happen. I think that the one about the little boat wasn't that good it didnt like get me interested in it, it was just kind if boring. So the one about the more than words was actually really cool and I liked it. It just had like something about it like I think because it looked more real and not so cartoon like.

  61. "Much Better Now"
I like the first video, "Much Better Now," because it is very creative and has a good message. The bookmark starts out not being able to surf the pages, but he does not give up. Towards the end of the video he is able to surf them, which shows that if you keep trying you will eventually become better. In the end it also shows him getting trapped outside of the book and becoming sad. This is until he turned around and found a lot more books or adventures. This shows that even though one adventure ends there are always more adventures yet to happen.

I liked the video, "Little Boat," because it was creative and it also had a meaning to it. In the beginning the video, the boat looks really good and almost brand new. As it goes around it helps people, but also gets in worse and worse condition. Towards the end it looks like it can barely float. It starts going to the same places, where it helped the people. They see it's condition and everyone starts helping the boat. In the end the boat has a piece of everything it helped and looks almost as good as it did in the beginning. This shows that even if you get put down, if you have good people around you they will help you get back up. It can also show that even the tiniest help can go a long way.

  62. I find these two videos extremely cute, and I love the symbolism of them. To me, the videos "Little Boat" and "Much Better Now" show use stories about life. The Boat, which symbolizes a human to me, goes through life getting damaged, and gets put back together. As we go through life we can be damaged, and then we fix ourselves to get back up, of course stronger this time.In "Much Better Now" I feel it symbolizes that we need challenges in life to have goals, and become a stronger individual. At first the paper man couldn't surf the big wave, but as he kept trying he got it! He had fun finally learning to surf, and when the book closed the challenge was finished. He seemed sad, but when he turned around he saw there are more challenges out there to explore.

    ReplyDelete
  63. "Much Better Now" i found it creative since the bookmark came to life it keep trying to ride a wave from a book. The bookmark was having fun from a book which it show that books are fun to read. To the end of the video the wing closes the book and the bookmark is sad knowing that that adventure is over but not a second later it turns around to show a room filled with books, you can tell that the bookmark was happy. This short video shows us that reading is an adventure no mater what it contents hold.

"The Little Boat" The short video starts with a boat that goes around the world. During its trip it gets damaged by every thing it encounters, some even ride the boat, such as monkeys, war, cloth line, birds, and a heavy storm. Even when its reduced to just a couple of planks it continues eventually going in a circle and getting repaired by those it was damaged by. For this short video the saying what comes around goes around is actually true for the little boat.

  64. I though the little red boat and much more now was imagining. In the little read boat I had a personification of the the boat. Because I felt sad for the boat when it got destroy and then when the boat came back up I felt happy of the boat. In much more there was a conflict are resolution. The conflict in much more now the book mark learning to surf when he does learn the book closes and the resolution is when he walk out into the decent and saw the other book.

  65. "Much Better Now" was a really cute & great video. The bookmark never gave up, he tried & tried until he could finally surf the book. After he got it right, he turned around & saw stacks of books, now he can go explore & go on adventures with those books.
"Little Boat" was a cute video, that boat went through so much. It was destroyed but it kept going on. People were there to help & fix the boat. After everything the boat went through it made it back to where it started.

  66. The greatest part of "Much Better Now" was when he realized there were so many more books for him to get into. He seemed so sad when he was left out of the book he was having so much fun in. I mean think about it this way, he's a bookmark he has no life to him and when he does hes instantly having fun and experiencing something brand new that he loves so far. And just like that its gone. So for him to turn around and see that it doesn't have to be over was great for me it makes me feel like, when one door closes many more open. "Little Boat" in my opinion can be placed under a black comedy for me because the boat had gone through so much and when it came back at the end and the old women had put the sweater the boat dropped in the begging as the sail for the boat i was laughing inside so in my opinion it was a cute little story about a boat who overcame the odds and was rewarded in the end.....or something like that. (:

  67. Each short films represent something and do have a meaning. First film is about how no if you are attached to something, always be. Don't give up on it and let it be gone. The second film in some way is about how good things, have good rewarding's in the end. It's really good how some films have a meaning behind them and you have to think about it to figure what it represents.

  68. in my opinion in this short story the boy on the surfboard was determined to over come surfing and not wipe out. Finally a new wave came that he triumphed and then the book closed when he faced his challenge and conquered it.

  69. Both shorts have an air of age, which is great for characterizing both main subjects, and emphasizing the non-human nature of them as well. Both films have a unique art style, and it is very pleasing to watch. This made them an enjoyable time spent. As far as plot and story, the first is brief and clear, while the second is in a clear, almost timeline-esque format which is effective in emotionally attaching the viewer to the boat and its helpers.

The video "The little Boat" was all nice and all but I didn't enjoy it as much as "Much better now". The second video was a little boring because all it showed was a boat and its different settings. 76. To me, "Little Boat" was about the journey that is life. The movie showed that life can tear you down and build you up, you can encounter war and peace, and also how at the end of the day your problems seems small in comparison. This made the movie very likable.

However, I enjoyed "Much Better Now" much more. I think that it was about the act of reading. It is an adventure and after it is over, you feel pretty melancholy. Then, you remember there are many more books that you can poor yourself into. This message is very relatable to me and that, paired with an art style that I found more pleasant. made "Much Better Now" my favorite.

  79. We all go through trials and tribulations in life, no matter who we are.

In "Much Better Now", the bookmark wanted a life of freedom and adventure. He kept on getting up when he fell down, literally, until the book finally closed. But this wasn't the end for bookmark, for he saw an endless amount of opportunity and wealth right in front of him. We can all relate to this as creative and conscious beings. If we do our best in life, the best will come for us all.

The synopsis of "Little Boat" tells a story of a boat who goes through so much to find itself. It visits vast lands, causes a little mischief, and even helps others by being the boat it is. In the end, the boat was worn out. But the beings it helped and inspired were there to return the karma. I believe that the meaning of this story is to help others by being yourself. If we do are best and give those around us the best of who we are, then all life would be at true peace.

The two stories are very influential and inspiring. No matter who, what, or whom you think you are, you are capable of accomplishing more than you could possibly imagine. It all starts with thought, and then desire.

    Namaste.

    1. I agree with your comment completely. It's basically what I was trying to convey in my own comment. Now, I don't believe in karma but I do believe that the people and animals he came across and helped were there to return the favor. I also agree with your statement on how the stories were both influential and inspiring because now when I think about giving up, I'll have these videos to think back on and I'll be able to get through whatever it is that's breaking my spirit. So, in conclusion, great job and I'll see you in class. :)

    2. I agree with your comment competely! It's pretty much the same exact thing I was trying to convey in my own comment, though you did a much better job than me. Now, I don't believe in karma, but I do agree that the people and animals that he came across and/or helped were there for him in the end to return the favor. I also like how you said that the stories were influential and inspiring, because they really have impacted me. Now I have something to think back on to help me when I feel like giving up. So in conclusion, great job and I'll see you in class. :)

  80. In the both short films we were shown, I found that both had a reoccurring theme. They both involved struggle in the main character and how they continued on with their adventure.

In the one clip "Little Boat", it had a boat that kept going on even though nature kept throwing extreme problems in its path. At one point, the viewer is lead to believe that it had finally failed but were misled. Everyone it had helped on its path helped it continue on by repairing little fragments they found to be broken. This shows that despite its struggle it was soon rewarded with the kindness of strangers and finally was able to end its journey.

In the other clip "Much Better Now", the little bookmark has this huge adventure inside of a book. Struggle is shown when it keeps going back on its board whenever it's knocked back down. It survives that big wave at the end and wants to continue its fun but the book closes and leaves him alone. The viewers watch as the entire library is revealed and an excitement for the bookmark is built. It was rewarded just like the boat character was with more adventure and shows that life keeps going on and fighting barriers comes with that responsibility.

In conclusion, both are shown with their struggles and go forwards to the good stuff. Both are rewarded, both have their fun, and both experience and learn throughout the entire story.

  84. I liked both videos but I need to be honest my favorite was "LITTLE BOAT" because the boat kept helping the beings in the story even when it was inconvenient for himself but even when it hurt him he continued on his journey and still helped more people and in the end they showed there gratitude for his help by putting him back together peice by piece for me this story is a symbol of karma and never giving up cause every good thing you do comes back to you in the end no matter how small the deed. The story "MUCH BETTER NOW" was intriguing and inspiring to me also just as with "LITTLE BOAT" it was a story of not giving up no matter what happens,it also says to keep your mind open to try new things no matter how hard they may be and to embrace freedom cause you never know when it will be taken away from you.

  85. I think that they where both a bit odd. I don't know if i completely under stood the symbolism in either short films. Although i did like the whole personification aspect in both films. I enjoy the journey that they had in both movies, but I liked the boat more than the book mark.

  86. Well both stories were very touching but I would have to say that the Little Boat story was the best. It seemed no matter how much you can go through, you can find help to get fixed again. It just goes to show how many troubles can happen but also good things will come to you.

  87. I believe "Much Better Now" symbolizes that you don't really know what you got until it's gone. And when you don't have something, you'll find that life always has far more greater things to offer in the non distant future.
And I would consider "Little Boat" an epic adventure story, due to the crazy-yet-cool things that roam in the boat's surroundings, such as big fish, soldiers in the midst of battle, monkeys, ect. But I think it's supposed to show that some things in life have to keep getting worse before they get better.

  88. Throw out the story it was pretty life learning. It shows me not to give up in life or on what I have to achive. The story had lots of meanings to it. The little Boat was my favorite, because the boat made a journay and went through bad. Then came back a new boat.

  89. "Little Boat" I liked because it shows you that the people that you push away are usually the first people who come back and build you up.

"Much Better Now" shows you that no matter how many obstacles life throws at you don't give up and when your about to give up you find something new that gives you the same amount of joy in life :D

  90. These two stories show creativity in the most simple yet complex forms. As you watch them, you begin to realize that they aren't just short films, they're stories.

"Much Better Now" tells the story of this little bookmark who discovers the magic held in books. He tries and tries to surf on the page of the book, but everytime he gets on the board and heads towards the waves, he falls. At one point he just stops and lays on the surfboard while staring at the sky. I can only imagine what's going through his head as he lies there. I think we all have those moments when we need to take a break and collect ourselves before we go and try to press on. Eventually he gets the hang of surfing and it seems that when everything is going great the book closes. That happens to many of us throughout our lives. But then he discovers all the other book and the other opportunities for adventure that he has.

"Little Boat" shows the journey of a small boat through the ocean. Along the way he passes many different obsticles where he is little by little torn apart byh the people and things he encounters. Towards the end, the boat is completely destroyed... but it presses on and makes it's way back to where it came from. As he does, the people and things that tore him apart help to build him back up so by the time he's wher he started, he's good as new. It shows us an important life lesson, no matter what we're going through or how bad our environments tear us up, we need to perservere and push through to the end because we never know how our lives can turn around.

  91. "Little Boat" was my favorite. It show's that no matter what you go through you can still make it through and stay up. Both short film's were amazing, i liked that they were really creative. "Much Better Now" was very cute. I loved the ending, i didn't really understand the meaning behind it, but it was entertaining.

  93. I think that both of the stories were about losing and then gaining something. In "Little boat" he became just a bunch of pieces of broken wood. When the little boat came back around everyone put a piece back on it but in there own way. In "Much Better Now" the bock mark got blown out of its book and got all sad because he couldn't surf. He kept on trying until he got it the he saw all the other books that was like a hole new world to him.

  95. They're both truly so simplistic, yet so complex in their own world, and I can honestly understand the message that they send. As others have said previously, they are quite alike. 'Little boat', while cutesy and colorful, is really dreary and powerful, making it easily my favorite of the two, showing that you'll get worn down with every journey in life, and you'll only barely float by. Of course, you'll come across someone or something who'll patch you up. 'Much better now', reminded me of myself--No, It reminded me of just about everyone that I've ever met. We all mess up and fall down, and sometimes we just go underwater for a bit, struggle to breath, and finally make it back up. They're both touching pieces that are easily to both enjoy and relate to, and I hope to tell a story as well done as the storytellers did with these two.

  96. "Much Better Now" is about a little bookmark that tries to surf but fails time after time again when he could just have given up the first time when he persevered. I think that the message of this story is no matter how bad life seems to be just push through it.

    ReplyDelete
  97. These are about failing, but with try after try of not giving up you'll succeed. At bad times, pushing through will give you better end results.Don't give up just because something doesn't go right to begin with.Like the messgae in "Much better now".

  98. I think that this form of storytelling was beautiful. If the shorts had words it would've been somewhat worse. The way the boat and bookmark alike were presented everyone began feeling for them. We were sad when the little boat was shot, and happy when the children/birds fixed its sail. I am truly thankful for the opportunity to see this beautiful pieces.

  100. both of these stories were both symbolical and engaging. the very paraphernalia of these stories were emotionally attaching to us in the few minuets we got to know them.

the little boat witnessed all the bad in the world, but in the end she was built on her experience. her experience has taught the world of peace and love as she combined the peoples small, but important pieces to fix her.

the little book mark was an amazing emotional trip that touched everyone when he never expired from his true potential. he looked upon the other books hinting an infinite source of adventures.

  106. I think the Little Boat was a story that tells that no matter how many troubles you face in your life if you keep your head high then everything that once brought you down will help you come back together again. Even though the Little Boat went through all that trouble and the tearing apart the Little boat never quit, i look up to that little and only wish that i would be able to do the same as the boat which is NEVER GIVE UP!

  108. I like the message that the little boat was sending out. I think that it means no matter what obstacles you go through you met different people who watch you fall and watch you through the bad times, but those same people are the ones who will be there when you need them to build you right back up and grow successful through the time .

  111. OK, I did this before, when it was due, and the cyber demons ate it. SO here we go again....

'Much Better Now' tells a lot about a learning curve and how sometimes when you want to do something so badly, you completely absorb yourself in one thing, it still doesn't come anyway. But that doesn't mean you should give up, -and the bookmark doesn't,- but after you stop and just let your mind go blank you're doing whatever it is you trying to do, and you don't even notice at first. Then suddenly, your window closes, and you panic. Then you realize that there is so much more in the world, that you can do so much more. So the moral of 'Much Better Now,' is that if you really want to do something and your no good at it at first, you should keep on trying until you get it right. I can relate to the little bookmark.
'Little Boat,' in my opinion is about how one person can do one thousand kind, selfless acts that destroy your own mind and body for the sake of others, and sometimes those people won't even remember your name tomorrow. And you're torn up until you can hardly stand on you own two feet anymore. Then sometimes, when you come back to those same people, they give back, helping to rebuild you to your prime. So in other words, 'Little Boat' is a perfect example of karma; what goes around comes around. Which means that if are kind and selfless, others will return in full.
